A cell phone can get various faults and problems when using it. It is
therefore necessary for cell phone repair technicians to know what are
all the faults they have to repair and fix when they open a repair
center.
Basically there are 3 types of faults in cell phones:

These are the most common faults that arise in smartphones as well as tablets. There are many more strange problems other than the ones mentioned above. Some of these are easy to repair while others are difficult and sometimes even beyond repair. Beyond repair doesn’t mean that you cannot fix the problem. Actually you will have to replace the motherboard which in most cases is not available or makes it very expensive for the customer to pay and hence it is not feasible to fix the handset in such cases.
Other than the above faults, sometimes unlocking is required if your device is locked.

- Dead: When a phone doesn’t switch-on, it is called a dead phone.
- Insert SIM: In this fault, the SIM card does not get detected.
- Hanging Problem: In this fault, the handset gets stuck and freezes frequently.
- Network Problem: No network signal or low network or even fluctuating network.
- Microphone Problem: No out-going sound.
- Ringer Problem: No ring tone, music and loud speaker sound.
- Speaker Problem: No incoming sound.
- Vibrator Problem: No vibration.
- Display Problem: No graphics on LCD or a broken LCD.
- Auto Switch Off: Phone switches off automatically even when its not prompted.
- Restart Problem: Phone restarts automatically.
- Call Cuts Off: Call gets disconnected or cuts off. It may also be due to poor service from network provider.
- Charging Problem: No charging or very slow charging.
- Keypad Problem: Keypad doesn’t work or some keys do not function. Home button or volume buttons do not work.
- Touch Problem: Touch doesn’t work or slow touch.
- Battery Discharge Problem: Battery gets drained very fast even when fully charged.
- Bluetooth Problem: Bluetooth does not work.
- Camera Problem: Camera does not work.
- FM Radio: Radio does not work or no tuning.
- LED Problem: Not back-light on LCD.
- Memory Card Problem: MMC does not get detected.
- No Internet
- WiFi Problem: WiFi does not function
